Kaituna River Rafting Grade 5

The Grade 5 Kaituna River features the worlds highest commercially rafted waterfall, the awesome 7m (21ft) Tutea Falls. Although this trip provides full on action the river is pool drop meaning that every rapid is followed by calm water making it very forgiving for a grade 5 river, In fact around 70% of our customers have never rafted before.
Around 15 – 20 minutes of training is provided prior to the trip teaching all the required paddle commands and safety information.
Situated in the Okere Falls Scenic Reserve
Location – 391 State Highway 33, Mourea, Rotorua
Timings - On water 45 minutes, allow 2 hours (excluding travel time)
Travel time - from Rotorua 20 minutes, from Tauranga 45 minutes
Trip times - Summer (Labour weekend – Easter) – 9.00am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm
Winter – 10.00am and 2.00pm
Complimentary pick up is available from central Rotorua approximately 30 minutes before trip time
We provide – full training and all required specialist equipment
Customers require – swimsuit and towel
Minimum age – 13 years (conditions apply)
Kaituna River Base / Head Office – Driving Directions from Rotorua15 – 20 minutes north east of Rotorua on State Highway 33 you will come to a sign ‘Welcome to Mourea’ at the bottom of the hill on the left you will see River Rats signs. If you prefer, we offer a complimentary pick up from central Rotorua.
