Venture Forth International – Mountains of Adventure

Based in beautiful Cape Town on the Southern tip of Africa, Venture Forth International (incorporating the Cape Town School of Mountaineering) was founded in 1994 as a specialised mountain guide service and an accredited mountaineering school. Using our experience gained in the mountains of the world, we have expanded our adventure portfolio to include services such as corporate team building and youth outdoor education.

We pride ourselves on being a dynamic and professional company with the flexibility to serve our clients’ adventure, travel and training requirements with dedication and enthusiasm. Whether you want to take a half day hike up Table Mountain, start out rock climbing or go on a high altitude expedition, we would like to meet you and make it a reality.

South Africa is a spectacularly mountainous country that offers some of the best mountain adventure opportunities in the world. World-class rock climbing, trekking and canyoneering can be found minutes from big cities or many days away from the urban jungle. Our mountains are not overrun with people and civilisation tends to stop at the foothills; leaving the peaks and valleys an impeccable wilderness experience for explorers and adventurers to enjoy.

Experience Africa at altitude with us, be it all 1086m of world-famous Table Mountain or 5896m of awe-inspiring Kilimanjaro. We believe that mountains are not just about the challenging routes and formidable peaks, but also about the people who live in its magnificent shadows. So we try and incorporate true cultural experiences with inspiring summits.

We have selected a number of adventures with set itineraries. These can be found by discipline: Trekking (Hiking), Rock Climbing, Canyoneering (Kloofing) and Expeditions. These adventures can either be privately booked for yourself or you can join a set departure. We also have a number of Soft Adventures for those lazy days. These include wine tours and cultural or sight seeing trips.

Join one of our expeditions to a high altitude peak in Africa or elsewhere on the globe and experience our unique outlook on guided expeditions. We like our clients to be part of the team and learn about mountaineering along the way. Venture Forth will never drag people up peaks where they do not belong, so we believe in helping you with a thorough expedition training program that includes practical experience on lower mountains before going for that dream summit.
