The O’Neill Instructors will take you through an Introduction to surfing skills & techniques. The lesson lasts for half a day but you will be surprised what you can achieve in this time. These group lessons are a fun and effective way to get a taste for surfing or improve upon your basic skills, and learn some new ones. Bring your friends, and make new ones along the way!

You will find us located in the Grassy Car park (which is opposite the Phoenix Pub). Our surf school is set up as a mobile station so that we can visit other local beaches as the surf and weather conditions dictate. Parking is approx £5 for all day, and has easy access to the beach, toilet and food/cafe facilities.

Itinerary
Meet us at The O’Neill Surf Academy Van in the longstay grassy carpark at Watergate Bay ( postcode TR8 4AA) 5 minutes before your lesson start time so that we can get you signed in and kitted out for your session. Car parking is approx £5 for all day. Your lesson will consist of both beach and water based coaching. All coaching is tailored to your ability so whether its your first of 50th time we’ll ensure you learn and improve.
Inclusions
These lessons are suited for Children ages 8 and upward, teenagers and adults. These session run as beginner, improver, intermediate, intermediate improver and advanced so whatever your ability we’ll have the perfect coaching available. Includes use of all surfing equipment.
Exclusions
We do not accept children under 6 years of age.
Please Note
Failure to turn up to your course on time will result in you missing your lesson. Any lessons that are missed will not be rescheduled or refunded. If you’re late, we wont wait!
You’ll need a towel, swimwear, warm clothing, sunscreen and any medication you require.
You’ll be getting wet, so please come with some suitable clothing to wear after your session. We still run lessons in the rain, so if you are bringing spectators we have a nice beachfront cafe at Watergate where they can watch you surfing your very first waves over a hot chocolate!
Cancellation policy
If cancelled up to 1 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the entire activity price may be charged.
