At Punta Uva ‘s beach, with the help of a guide, you will kayak in the ocean first and then slide towards the Punta Uva river that unwinds into the jungle.
After the kayaking, the options are: exploring the Punta Uva’s promontory, snorkeling or sunbathing at the beach. Punta Uva (Spanish for Grape Point) has been described by Outside magazines “one of the best seven beaches of the world.”

Samasati is located 130 miles from San Jose’ international airport. It is a very scenic drive that will take about 4 hours. We strongly recommend, if you are driving a rented vehicle, that you leave the city of San Jose not later than 12:00 noon . That way, you will find your way to Samasati during daylight hours and have time to stop, look at the scenery or have a snack.
From the car rental, please get directions to the Guapiles/Limon Highway. It is a road that winds up into the cloudy mountains of Braulio Carrillo’s National Park, before crossing the Santa Clara flatlands all the way to Puerto Limon.
Once you get to Puerto Limon, please follow directions to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. Samasati is 30 miles South of Puerto Limón, direction Puerto Viejo. It is located in the Hone Creek village(‘s) area. About five miles after passing the Cahuita National Park’s entrance, you’ll see a big sign on the right hand side that says “Samasati Nature Retreat”.Samasati’s entrance’s gate is about 1/2 mile inland from the main road. Samasati’s restaurant and accommodations are located 1 mile uphill from the entrance(’s) gate. There is a reception(’s) area at the entrance gate. There you will find out how to proceed with your 4×4 vehicle, or where to park your car and wait for a Samasati vehicle if your vehicle is not a 4X4. Samasati’s entrance’s office is open between 8 and 5 PM every day. Please let us know in advance if you are planning to arrive earlier or later.

Cancellation policy
If cancelled up to 1 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the entire activity price may be charged.
