Cascading - Waterfall Abseling
Activity provided by
In Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Canyoning can be defined as a type of alpinism that uses climbing techniques, and is practiced in waterfalls. But the sport goes way beyond rappelling thru waterfalls and involves everything that has to do with canyon exploration.
In Brazil, the most popular version or sub-category of canyoning is called cascading ( or waterfall rappelling). It is considered a low impact activity, that interact with the natural environment, without disturbing it.
In Rio, you can experience this activity in the Tijuca Forest area, very close to the south area hotels.
It is ideal for first timers since we operate this tour on a 45 feet high waterfall.
